   :]v[:    Server Rules    :]v[:

This is where we publicly post the rules that we enforce on our servers.

   Website & Forums
All pictures, avatars, and signatures must be kept "worksafe", in other words, safe to be viewed from a work computer or with small children nearby viewing the screen.
Comments or posts made that contain racial slurs, or that demean a person's race, gender, gender preference, religion, or country of origin are not acceptable. This includes , but is not limited to, sayings such as, "That's gay."
Although profanities are not forbidden, they are not to be used to excess.
Only the Harmattan Vanguard Clan is allowed to recruit from this website or forums. Attempting to recruit our members may result in a ban of your entire clan.

   Ventrilo
Although open to the general public, all guests are expected to conduct themselves with at least some measure of maturity.
Comments made that contain racial slurs, or that demean a person's race, gender, gender preference, religion, or country of origin are not acceptable. This includes , but is not limited to, sayings such as, "That's gay."
Although profanities are not forbidden, they are not to be used to excess.
Only the Harmattan Vanguard Clan is allowed to recruit from our servers. Attempting to recruit our members may result in a ban of your entire clan.
Although banter is encouraged, all guests are expected to show respect to all :]v[: members. All full members have admin in Ventrilo, and all recruits have a limited form of admin, and as such are expected to enforce server rules. If you are asked to do something (or to stop doing something), you are expected to do so. If you believe that you have been treated unfairly, you may appeal or bring the matter to the attention of the Clan Founder; simply send a private message to :]v[: Assassin using the private message system located in our forums.

   BF:BC2 Ranked Game Server
Our game servers run Punkbuster Anti-Cheat software and Stream to both PunksBusted and PBBans. :]v[: PunksBusted Admin review the screenshots and demos daily. All suspicious screenshots are then uploaded for review by other PunksBusted Admin. Every member of the Harmattan Vanguard Clan keeps watch in-game for suspicious players. We don't tolerate cheating of ANY kind whether by our members or guests. Stat Padding (one person willingly standing idle as a member of the opposing team repeatedly kills them in a fashion meant to achieve an in-game challenge/points/rank/etc.) is strictly forbidden. However, two people choosing to fight each other only with a specific weapon (knives, pistols, grenades, etc.) is NOT an example of stat-padding, as long as both players are actively fighting back.
All guests are expected to conduct themselves with at least some measure of maturity. Just because you know how to swear, doesn't mean you have to type it into in-game chat. Our game servers are open to guests of all ages, and as such, in-game chat should be kept as clean as possible. It is one thing to have a profanity "slip out" while using voice communications, but there is no excuse for typing it in-game. :]v[: uses in-game chat filters to monitor/censor text chat in-game.
Comments made that contain racial slurs, or that demean a person's race, gender, gender preference, religion, or country of origin are not acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to, sayings such as, "That's gay."
In-game chat is not to be used to insult other gamers.
Only the Harmattan Vanguard Clan is allowed to recruit from our servers. Attempting to recruit from our servers may result in a ban of your entire clan.
All guests are expected to show respect to all :]v[: members. If you are asked to do something (or to stop doing something) by a member of the Harmattan Vanguard Clan, you are expected to do so. If you believe that you have been treated unfairly, feel free to make a polite post in our forums about the incident, please be as specific as possible.
Team killing is not allowed on our servers, and you may be kicked if it becomes excessive. Although Friendly Fire is usually turned off, it is still possible to injure/kill a friendly via explosives, etc. If you accidentally TK someone, you are expected to appologize asap. If you get TK'd, you are not to TK in return. Please keep in mind that friendly-fire can be turned on or off at the whim of server admin.
Making use of game exploits is not allowed. We define an exploit to be anything that the designers of the game clearly did not intend to allow. Walking along an invisible ledge is not an exploit, hiding inside a rock is. Being outside the map's playable boundaries, is an exploit, as is gaining access to a windowless/doorless building that allows you to shoot out through the walls but doesn't allow others to shoot in. Admin within the game have the discretion to rule whether or not something is an exploit (as opposed to being a good spot to hide, etc.). If you are asked to stop using a particular tactic/glitch/etc., you are expected to do so or you may be kicked. Repeated abuse will lead to a ban. As always, you may appeal any admin ruling by posting (politely) in the forums.
The designers of game created grenade launchers and rocket propelled grenades. Their use is authorized. No one likes to be Noob-tubed, but it was clearly put into the game for use against infantry.
Sitting in one spot is not called camping, it is called defending, get used to it. Just because you like to run'n gun, doesn't mean that others have to ignore the concepts of defense and fields of fire. If you don't like it when people defend an area, go play Donkey Kong (oh, wait, Donkey Kong has a big ape camping/defending the top of the screen...) The game designers have created damage zones to keep one or both teams from entering certain portions of the map. As a result if a map and game mode allow enemy players into the other team's main base, then they are allowed to be there; it is not considered "spawn camping".
Mortar strikes are allowed ANYWHERE on the playable map. There is a delay between when the strike is called in, and when it arrives. Opposing players receive notice that an enemy mortar strike has been ordered (they can hear the mortars fire in the distance). Using a mortar strike on enemy spawn points is allowed.
Should the option become available, it is up to Admin discretion whether or not to eliminate any particular game feature.
Players may be kicked to make room for :]v[: Members or those non-members who are in our Ventrilo server. Players may also be moved between teams with little or no notice if necessary to maintain even teams.
These and all other rules may change, as such you are encouraged to visit this page and review it for changes as often as necessary.
